Who we are

Discovery helps students apply to universities in South Korea and to the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS). This policy covers the people who message us on Instagram or Telegram and are answered by our assistant, and the consultants who use our internal dashboard.

If you have any question about this policy, or want your data removed, write to discoveryproject4@gmail.com.

You are talking to an assistant, not a person

The first time you message us, we tell you that replies come from an automated assistant and that a human consultant is available whenever you want one. The assistant steps aside and hands the conversation to a person automatically in several situations — including when you ask for a human, when the question is about visas or law, when you indicate you are under 18, or when it has no reliable answer.

What we collect

We collect only what a consultant would need to advise you, and only from the conversation itself:

  • Your account on the platform you wrote from — your Instagram or Telegram account identifier, your username, the display name that platform gives us, and the language you write in. We never receive your password.
  • The messages you send and our replies, so the conversation makes sense and a consultant can pick it up where the assistant left off.
  • Study details you choose to tell us — previous education, specialty, GPA, IELTS, TOPIK or TOEFL scores, the programme, intake and year you are aiming for, and your approximate budget range. These are read out of what you write; you are never obliged to give any of them.
  • An internal lead score and notes our consultants use to decide who to follow up with and when.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, identity document numbers, payment card details, or passwords.

Why we use it

  • To answer your questions about programmes, deadlines, tuition and scholarships.
  • To build a picture of your situation so advice is accurate rather than generic, and so you do not have to repeat yourself.
  • To decide when a human consultant should take over, and to alert that consultant.
  • To see which questions we answer badly, so we can improve our written material. This is done on the text of questions, not on who asked them.

We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of you for anyone other than Discovery's own consultants.

Who else sees it

  • Anthropic — the text of your conversation is sent to Anthropic's Claude models to generate a reply and to read the study details above out of it. Anthropic processes it on our instructions and does not use it to train its models.
  • Voyage AI — our knowledge base articles are converted into search vectors by Voyage AI so the assistant can find the right answer. Your messages are used to search that index.
  • Instagram (Meta) and Telegram — the platforms you chose to write on. Their own privacy policies govern what they do with the conversation on their side.
  • Our hosting provider, which stores the database the above lives in.

We also disclose data if the law requires it. Beyond that, nobody outside Discovery's consultants sees your conversation.

Students under 18

Our service is intended for people aged 18 and over. If you tell us you are under 18, the assistant stops replying immediately and a human consultant takes over, who will ask for a parent or guardian to be involved before any advice continues. If you believe we hold data about a child, write to discoveryproject4@gmail.com and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

We keep your conversation and profile for as long as you are considering applying with us, and for up to two years after your last message, because admissions cycles run over years and students often come back a year later. After that it is deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Knowledge base articles carry expiry dates so that out-of-date deadlines and fees stop being quoted to anyone. Those articles contain no personal data.

Stopping automated messages

Send stop or unsubscribe in the chat (or dayandır, to'xtat, остановить, отписаться) and the assistant will stop replying for good. That is permanent for the automated side: only a human consultant can contact you afterwards, and only if you ask.

Your rights, and how to delete your data

You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. Email discoveryproject4@gmail.com from any address, or send the request in the chat itself, telling us the platform and username you wrote from so we can find you.

Deletion removes your contact record, every message in the conversation, and the study profile built from it. We answer within 30 days and confirm when it is done. There is nothing to keep afterwards — we hold no billing or account records for students.

How it is protected

Conversations are stored in an access-controlled database. Platform access tokens are encrypted at rest. Only Discovery consultants with an account on our dashboard can read conversations, each sees only their own organisation's, and all traffic is over HTTPS.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who we send it to, we update this page and the date at the top. Material changes are announced in the chat before they take effect.
